Evercrack

Now that the hello how ya doin stuff is over I wanted to write a post about a game. Huh a game why would a blog about games have a post about a game? Good question. Well not really thats what this site is about. The first game I want to talk to you about is the game that is currently consuming my life. By consuming I mean it is taking every thing I have not to be playing it right now. This game would be Everquest II. I thought I would make a link of those of you who are living in caves in the desert where no outside information at all can reach you. I have seen more media be it main stream or electronic entertainment media about this game and its predisesor than I have any game in history. Could this be because it has ended marriages caused failing grades in school and grown men to weep openly because they were killed so many times in the Plane of Hate that they lost multiple levels over it. Well I guess the main stream media may not know about all that but I promise this is one of the most influential games of our times. I know now there are many more alternatives to it such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars but this is the dealer that brought the crack that UO was selling onto the main streets and away from only the hardcore D&D nerds.

I have play EQ for the better part of 5+ years now. I started shortly after the first one debuted and now have been playing 2 since launch. This has to be the most addicting game I have ever touched. The first one had me almost kissing the phone man when he put in the DSL line and now with the second one I find as much joy from the pc that I build special just for this Holy game. I still play with almost all of the lovable retards that I started this saga out with and I highly suggest to anyone thinking about starting this game to go to some of your friends and tell them they must play this game with you or else. It makes the entire thing much more enjoyable. I encourage almost anyone I meet that claims to be a pc gamer to run out and pick this game up but at the same time every time I see someone looking at it in the store and say “huh I have never tried this maybe I will pick it up” I feel a little sad. This is for two reasons. One I can NEVER have the feeling back that I did the first time I set foot in Norath and saw the wonderful place that would be my new fantasy home for the next 5 years (I know I know NEARD. Whatever). Second I know the amount of time this person will soon be losing with loved ones. It almost makes me want to grab the person and say RUN run now and never come back to this place and then I realize I would be arrested and put in the hospital if I did that. I will leave this post with a few great sites for EQ humor and news:

GU comics which is now one of the best all around gaming comics right up with Penny Arcade in my book. This guy started with exclusively Everquest related content check him out if you haven't yet and check out his archives.

Agro Me is the blog that got me to pick up the keyboard and put in my thoughts on the gaming world.

Enjoy the sites and check back again I will try and post daily as school and work permit.
